Job Summary:
To assist and work with higher classification Flight Mechanics to prepare multiengine aircraft
mechanically for flight test and delivery to customer.
To perform modification work and structural repairs on experimental production and fielded aircraft.
Job Responsibilities:
Performs under the guidance of higher grade mechanics a variety of the more routine
mechanical duties on one or more aircraft models involving installation of line shortage items
functional check and adjustment of multiengine systems and repair or replacement of
malfunctioning systems to prepare aircraft mechanically for flight test and delivery to customer.
Works from blueprints routers specifications check lists and specific instructions to perform the
following principle duties:
Installs as required a variety of line shortage items which may involve disassembly and
reassembly of previously installed items.
Assists in the performance of functional checks corrections and adjustments to aircraft
mechanical systems.
Assists in the correction of flight test and inspection squawks.
May perform minor sheet metal rework as required.
Uses a variety of mechanic hand tools and checking devices such as scale inclinometer
tensiometer and pressure gages.
Maintains clean working area.
Responsible for quality of own work.
Performs other related duties as required.
Education:
Must have a high school diploma an equivalent certificate or a bronze level WorkKeys certification. Must
have equivalent trades training for ability to use simple arithmetic blueprints specifications check lists
measuring instruments testing devices and follow specific instructions. Must have knowledge of aircraft
mechanical systems and components. A&P license preferred.
Experience:
Requires 3 6 months diversified jet turboprop or piston mod phase inspection engine troubleshooting
or servicing experience applicable aviation maintenance related training from an accredited school or
experience under the guidance of a licensed A&P.
Working Conditions:
Somewhat disagreeable working conditions due to noncontinuous exposure to noise weather hydraulic
fluid MEK alcohol and other liquids.
