Job Description:
Our client a leading industrial services provider specializing in energy petrochemicals oil and gas marine mining manufacturing and construction is seeking an Operational Executive to lead its Projects Division. This role is ideal for a strategic leader with a passion for industrial advancement who excels in driving operational excellence fostering stakeholder relationships and promoting transformation across Africa. Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute the Projects Divisions strategy to align with organizational objectives driving industrial advancement.
- Develop and oversee business development initiatives collaborating with teams to prospect clients and grow the new business pipeline.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients suppliers and industry partners to support strategic goals.
- Oversee project execution ensuring scope cost and time requirements are met while achieving profit targets through effective cost control.
- Lead risk management efforts chairing the risk committee and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal policies.
- Drive human capital management including recruitment training and mentoring with a focus on Employment Equity (EE) and transformation targets.
- Provide financial forecasting revenue and cost analysis for projects contributing to annual budget preparation.
- Represent the company in industry engagements site visits and strategic discussions to enhance stakeholder ties.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Business Administration or a related field. Advanced qualifications (e.g. Masters degree) are a plus but not mandatory.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in industrial project management with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven expertise in strategic planning business development and operational management ideally in energy petrochemicals oil and gas mining or construction.
- Strong understanding of BBBEE compliance and transformation initiatives.
- Familiarity with ISO standards (e.g.) is advantageous.
- Exceptional leadership communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools financial forecasting and risk management.
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans with advanced proficiency in speaking reading and writing both languages.
- Willingness to travel across South Africa and Africa.
