Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detailoriented Underground Surveyor to join our team in Waihi New Zealand. As an integral part of our mining operations you will be responsible for conducting accurate surveys maintaining digital datasets and providing crucial data for operational mining activities.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Perform underground surveys using various surveying equipment and techniques
- Install and maintain laser alignment systems for development headings
- Carry out CMS and CALS scans of stopes and voids
- Issue mining instruction and memos for operations
- Develop and extend the mine survey control network to ensure the highest achievable accuracy for the mine
- Update and maintain accurate survey data records and 3D models
Qualifications :
- Tertiary Qualification in Surveying or Demonstrated Surveying Experience
- Full and Current Drivers License with the ability to drive a manual vehicle
- Previous Survey experience in an underground mine environment preferred
- Proficiency in use of surveying equipment and software (e.g. Deswik Surpac)
- Excellent mathematical spatial reasoning and problemsolving skills
- Good communication skills and physical fitness for underground work
