Job Description

The House of Commons Finance Services is currently looking to staff the Manager Asset Management Projects and Advisory Services position. 

About the Role: 

As the functional expert in asset management you will advise senior management including the Board of Internal Economy and Clerks Management Group on asset lifecycle management and investment decisions. You will promote best practices in asset and inventory management while ensuring compliance with legislative and fiduciary requirements. 

Step into a pivotal role where your expertise in asset management will shape the future of the Parliamentary Precinct. You will develop and implement comprehensive asset management strategies frameworks and controls. Your meticulous attention to detail will ensure that data is accurate and complete empowering senior management to make informed decisions. You will also design and deliver training programs to support Members of Parliament and Administration fostering a culture of excellence in asset and inventory management. 

Moreover you will lead the strategic planning operational management and compliance of complex Long Term Vision Planning (LTVP) asset transfers playing a key role in the seamless transition and management of assets within the Parliamentary Precinct.

Qualifications :

Education :

  • Completion of a university degree with a specialization in supply chain management logistics business administration or commerce project management or the equivalent combination of education experience and training.

Experience :

  • Demonstrated experience in asset management or a related discipline including responsibilities such as planning research analysis and evaluation.
  • Experience in developing comprehensive project plans coordinating complex projects and implementing risk identification and mitigation strategies.
  • Experience in working collaboratively with external partners agencies to align proper asset management transfer/practices.
  • Experience in identifying emerging trends developing and recommending improvements to policies practices performance measures and systems. 
  • Experience implementing programs that are adopted crossfunctionally within an organization.
  • Experience using a datadriven approach to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Experience in advising Senior Executives on strategic project management and in engaging and collaborating with senior stakeholders.

Assets :

  • Formal training and/or certification in the field of professional materiel / asset management such as: 
    • APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society).  
    • CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management). 
    • Government of Canada Certificate in Materiel Management.
