Are you a strategic thinker with deep expertise in job classification and compensation analysis We are seeking a Senior Classification and Compensation Analyst to join our highperforming Human Resources team for one of the most innovative county governments in the nation.
In this seniorlevel role you will lead complex classification and compensation projects that influence countywide human capital strategies and support operational effectiveness. Key responsibilities include conducting detailed job analyses developing and maintaining classification structures writing job classifications/descriptions performing market and internal equity studies and delivering sound salary recommendations in alignment with county policies labor agreements budgetary considerations and applicable laws.
This position requires a strong working knowledge of equal pay for equal work mandates pay scale development and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) to evaluate and determine exemption status and ensure compliance with federal wage and hour regulations. As a subject matter expert you will make recommendations to the HR Administrator and other leaders/boards on your analysis of professionals and labor relations staff on job design salary placement reclassifications and pay equity matters.

Carry out senior technical analysis project management and presentations covering the full scope of classification and compensation analysis.
1. Conduct Comprehensive Job Analysis
Lead complex job analysis studies to evaluate duties responsibilities and minimum qualifications of new or existing positions; develop accurate and defensible job descriptions.
2. Develop and Maintain Classification Structures
Design update and manage countywide job classification structures to ensure consistency alignment with operational needs and compliance with internal policies County Codes and federal/state regulatory requirements.
3. Lead Compensation Studies
Plan conduct and oversee market compensation studies internal salary equity reviews and pay structure analyses to support salary recommendations and pay policy adjustments.
4. Advise Departments on Classification and Pay
Serve as a senior technical expert and provide guidance on classification decisions salary placements and career ladders.
5. Interpret Policies and Labor Agreements
Ensure compliance with county HR policies and collective bargaining agreements in the administration of classification and compensation programs.
6. Design and Administer Pay Plans
Develop and manage pay scales and compensation plans including base pay structures Cost of Living adjustments longevity and premium pay tailored to the countys workforce. Ensure pay plans.
7. Manage Complex Classification Projects
Lead largescale classification and compensation projects such as reorganizations new system implementations or enterprisewide equity adjustments.
8. Conduct Job Audits and Desk Audits
Independently perform indepth audits of positions to resolve disputes appeals or requests for reclassification and present findings with supporting documentation.
9. Develop Reports and Presentations
Create detailed analytical reports dashboards and presentations using PowerPoint excel and other applications to communicate analysis findings and recommendation to support well informed decisionmaking.
10. Technical Advice
Provide guidance training and technical expertise to departmental HR liaisons
Bachelors Degree and four (4) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
This is a senior level position requiring the ability to provide in depth technical expertise through written and oral presentation to all levels of management.
Bachelors degree in business management industrial/organizational psychology human resource management finance or related field.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience leading analysis of compensation analysis developing pay scales conducting job analysis and allocations classification reviews.
Strong experience with public sector classification systems classification reviews and merit based pay is highly preferred.
Excellent writing analytical and oral presentation skills. Experience in presenting studies analysis to Directors boards etc.
Strong experience drafting and updating compensation policies.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel HRIS databases and Microsoft applications such as PowerPoint.
