Job Description

Our client in Westwood MA is seeking a Chemist to join the team

Duties:

Prepare and test samples by performing physical chemical and electrical evaluations on both new and existing products in accordance with specified standards.
Operate calibrate and maintain analytical instruments including FTIR TGA DSC TMA GC/MS and GPC.
Conduct analysis of raw materials and final products to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
Manage inventory of essential lab consumables and critical spare parts to ensure uninterrupted operation of analytical equipment.
Develop and validate reliable testing methodologies for the analysis of raw materials and finished products.
Train laboratory technicians in established analytical procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy.


Requirements:

BS or MS degree in chemistry polymer science or a related field with three or more years of laboratory experience
High school diploma or equivalent acceptable with 10 years laboratory experience
Successful candidate should have demonstrated experience with the following instruments / techniques: FTIR TGA DSC TMA GC/MS GPC HPLC.
Experience in set up calibration maintenance methods development / optimization interpretation and reporting of results required.
Excellent communication skills required. Ability to organize and present scientific data to technical and nontechnical audiences.
Strong organizational skills with ability to execute multiple parallel projects
