The Mentor Coach Manager implements strengthbased coaching models and addresses the training needs of EHSN directly operated partners and subrecipients including Education Coordinators Home Visitor Supervisors teaching staff and homevisiting staff. The Mentor Coach performs the functions of this position with a strong understanding of the programs curriculum the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework Illinois Early Learning Standards CLASS and HOVRS and through the knowledge and application of developmentally appropriate school readiness practices. Ensure full compliance with NAEYC DCFS and Head Start Performance Standards. Reports to the Assistant Director of Professional Development.
Reporting to the Assistant Director Professional Development you will:
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Management:
Gathers and records information about teachers home visitors and education staff working with infants toddlers and preschoolaged children implementation of practices described in goals/action plans for the purpose of summarizing and displaying data.
Analyze and aggregate multiple sources of data (CLASS HOVRS accreditation reviews GOLD) to identify professional development needs and ensure progress toward the agencys school readiness goals
Implement Systems:
Implements researchbased coaching strategies for all teachers home visitors and education staff working with infants toddlers and preschoolaged children in the Head Start program.
Monitors and evaluates strengthbased coaching model and the training needs of Education Coordinators Home Visitor Supervisors teaching staff and homevisiting staff. Services.
Support the credentialing requirements for staff throughout EHSN including directly operated programs subrecipients and partner programs and develop a system to ensure that all professional development supports with EHSN are documented analyzed and continuously improved.
T/TA:
Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Professional Development to develop and implement an ongoing monitoring plan for professional development and staff qualifications.
Establishes and implements a systematic approach to staff training technical assistance and professional development focusing on effective curriculum implementation knowledge of the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework and strategies for partnering with families and supporting children with disabilities.
Professional Learning and Development
Designs coordinates and facilitates professional development to support the knowledge understanding and implementation of Child Curriculum and Assessment reflective practice and best practice teaching methods and instructional strategies.
Collaborates with EHSN Child Development staff on the development and implementation of professional development plans utilizing multiple sources of data including classroom assessments observations reflective practices and individual goals.
Coaching/Mentoring:
Coordinate followup support with Mentor Coaches to enhance the implementation of information and transfer of skills into practice.
Build knowledge skills and abilities of mentor coaches that develop and implement Practice Base professional development strategies through regular coaching and mentoring and ensure a balance of reflective supervision and performance management for staff directly supervised. (Staff Development & Supervision)
Reporting:
Work with the Assistant Director of Professional Development to refine the coaching database for tracking and reporting input data and outcomes as well as user feedback surveys and other datacentered applications.
Prepares and tracks professional development plans for directly operated programs subrecipients and partner programs to ensure program educational requirements are met and maintained in collaboration with EHSN and Program leadership staff.
Collaboration/Coordination:
Plans develops and implements professional development opportunities for education staff based on individual site and programlevel data; ensures that necessary resources materials and technical assistance are available to support educational staff in providing highquality services.
Supports and supervises a team mentor coaches manages coaching requests and collaborates with the team to submit written reports after every coaching mentoring assessment and TTA visit with a summary of the activities completed and topics covered including a determination of compliance with any deliverables being assessed and a plan of action as necessary.
Assist the EHSN leadership team in developing an annual training and technical assistance plan and assist with formulating revising and updating the EHSN Head Start training plans on an annual basis
KNOWLEDGE EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Proficiency in classroom observation systems (e.g. CLASS Environment Rating Scales etc.) and other early childhood assessments preferred. Be able to remain abreast of developments in the child development field.
Knowledge of and ability to access analyze and interpret Head Start Standards state and local licensing requirements and the organizations philosophy.
Ability to work as a cooperative and supportive member of an interdisciplinary team.
Ability to communicate and cooperate with diverse families various professionals and community groups.
Ability and willingness to travel to Head Start and Early Head Start programs located in a highrisk lowincome community.
Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to learn and master computer technology/software programs as needed.
Knowledge of Creative Curriculum Teaching Strategies Gold and CLASS.
Base Annual Salary: $89400.00$98000.00
Grade: 17
As of the time of this posting this is the expected base annual salary range. The base annual salary will be based on a wide range of factors including skills qualifications experience as well as business needs and limitations.
