DescriptionPosition Title: Public Safety Coordinator.

Work Schedule: Monday Friday 7:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m.; travel up to 1% of the schedule which includes local (Twin Cities metro area) travel. This position is not eligible for hybrid or remote work.
Hourly Rate: $21.00 $23.00
Essential Job Duties:
- Manage Parking Services:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all inperson phone and email inquiries related to parking services delivering clear courteous and solutionfocused assistance to students faculty staff and campus visitors.
- Provide frontdesk support during office hours addressing questions about permits citations accommodations and policies with professionalism and accuracy.
- Ensure a welcoming inclusive and helpful environment in the Parking Office while upholding institutional policies and procedures.
- Process student and employee applications for parking permits including permit payments issuance lot assignments citation collections and citation appeals.
- Maintain accurate and timely parking office records encompassing student faculty and staff parking permit information parking citation/enforcement data and generating reports as needed.
- Collaborate with Disability and Access Services to maintain accurate parking accommodations records issuing and rescinding permits as necessary.
- Disseminate communications to students staff and faculty regarding parking processes and policies on behalf of the Parking Office.
- Advocate for student needs through individual meetings interdisciplinary collaboration program development policy evaluation evaluation of need determination of resource management and fostering growth of resources.
- Administrative Functions:
- Maintain lost and found records.
- Maintain records for equipment technology medical supplies office supplies and staff records including training equipment uniforms awards and performance reviews.
- Order supplies uniforms equipment etc.
- Reconcile credit card transactions for the department of Public Safety on a monthly basis.
- Maintain and process bike registration and permit requests.
- Maintain fleet records including maintenance records.
- Assist with the supervision of the student Administrative Assistant.
- Assist with community engagement event organization room reservations and catering orders.
- Coordinate training for officers to increase their ability to effectively respond to the community by collaborating with Disability and Access Residence Life and Title IX to work on comprehensive and trauma informed response.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervision Received and Exercised:
- Reports to Associate Director of Public Safety.
- This position does not supervise staff or students.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; maintain a valid drivers license and meet St. Olaf College driver authorization criteria with a satisfactory driving record.
- Experience: 1 years of administrative or management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in business or management.
- Experience: 3 years of administrative or management experience.
Prerequisites:
- Employment in this position is conditioned upon successful completion of a background check which may include: criminal background checks reference checks verification of work history verification of any required academic credentials licenses and/or certifications a motor vehicle check verification of DOT certification a credit check employment eligibility verification and/or a preemployment physical. Whether a background check is deemed successfully completed will be at the sole discretion of St. Olaf College.
