Job Description
Metalworking is looking to add a Break Press Operator to our 1st Shift!
The Brake Press Operator is primarily responsible for forming/ bending parts on a CNC Brake Press to meet blueprint specifications keeping up with production schedules and meeting quality requirements. They will also perform setup procedures on simple to moderately complex part runs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Form parts utilizing CNC Press Brake equipment assuring quality and productivity
- Using inspection devices to inspect parts according to print and product inspection plan. Spotcheck quality of work by periodically and visual inspection
- Measures work using rule gauges calipers and templates
- Will be trained to learn setup procedures on simple to moderately complex parts
- Determine correct tooling to form parts to specifications based on material type thickness bend radius and part geometry.
- Generate programs at machine controller on simple to moderately complex parts.
- Know and enforce all safety rules and regulations.
- Responsible in reading and interrupting blueprints
- Making small mathematically calculated angle and dimensional corrections
- Orienting the part correctly according to projected view on blueprint
- Follow all safety rules and remain safety conscious at all times by understanding safety requirements in every area and complying. Provide suggestions for improvement.
- Following Press Brake process standard operating procedures
- Process improvement ideas are always welcomed
- Accurately entering quantities of production pieces and inspection results into the computer
- Machine Operator Preventative Maintenance
Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds regularly stand for the entire shift bend squat twist and turn.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The employee in this role will be working indoors in an industrial manufacturing environment. The employee will regularly be exposed to noise levels requiring hearing protection moving equipment and mechanical parts. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience:
- 3 or more years of experience as Brake Press Operator required
- Ability to read router packets understand and follow all instructions given
- Must be proficient in reading and interpreting blue prints and shop drawings
- Advanced knowledge of brake press operations is a plus
- Familiarity with the use dial calipers square and various measuring equipment
- Basic math knowledge
- Licensures and Certifications: None
- Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
