Description
Curriculum must comply with MCTCs CNC Machinist program
Actual courses will be negotiated between employee and Stober Drives Inc and will depend on availability of such class. If the employee has already taken and received a passing grade for a particular course they will be given credit for that class and will not be required to repeat that course.
Position Summary
Performs a wide range of setup inspection and production duties on CNC Machine Tools as required by production schedules & business requirements and will attend MCTC part time as stipulated above.
Job Duties:
- Program setup & operate various machine tools.
- Perform quality inspections as required.
- Execute computer transactions & associated paperwork to update order status.
- Perform housekeeping duties.
- Coordinate daily tasks with other team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
Upon completion of 48 hours and OJT employee should have:
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to create conversational CNC programs
- Ability to read & interpret manufacturing drawings
- Ability to select & apply various cutting tools
- Mechanical ability and familiarity with hand tools
- Ability work from written instructions
- Quality minded with the ability to inspect own work
- Ability to perform Preventive Maintenance on equipment
- Ability to work well with others in a Team environment

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Mechanical experience machine shop metrology (as in High School Technology Center) is a plus but not required.
- Strong interest in quality quality procedures and processes
Personal Characteristics:
- Strong analytical numerical and reasoning abilities.
- Participative work style.
- Good interpersonal skills. Ability to get along with many diverse personalities in challenging situations while presenting a courteous professional demeanor.
- Ability to establish credibility and be decisive.
- Good communications skills written and verbal.
- Results oriented with a high level of initiative.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs.
- Mechanical ability

PHYSCIAL DEMANDS:
The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand walk stoop kneel crouch push or pull up to 50 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to sit climb and balance. The employee must regularly lift and or move objects up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include: close vision distant vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus
