Job Description
Talen Energy is seeking an experienced Coal Equipment Operator for their Brunner Island power plant in York Haven Pennsylvania.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Operates diesel locomotives either by manual or remote control for the purpose of shifting and spotting railroad cars within general plan operating area for unloading loading and maintenance purposes.
2. Responsible for classification of cars.
3. Operates mobile crane.
4. When assigned operates all yard equipment.
5. Makes necessary adjustments maintains equipment in service and assists in major repairs when equipment is not in service.
6. Reports need for and assists with repairs.
7. Fuels lubricates and keeps equipment clean.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned or as necessary.
MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be able to pass respirator fit and use test.
2. Ability to meet requirements and perform all jobs below the Coal Equipment Operator IV position:
Operating bulldozer tracked and rubber tire operating trippers to fill coal bunkers coupling of rail cars greasing & adjustments conveyors systems assist in cleaning coal handling equipment operating conveyors system by way of electric controls sets up conveyor systems as necessary for maintenance operating car dumper for emptying rail cars of coal actsas system operating representative (SOR) overseeing clearance orders for equipment lock out in coal yard direct lower classified equipment operators as needed.
3. As required be able to obtain a current Pennsylvania Class II operators license.
4. Thorough knowledge of safety rules applicable to work being performed.
5. Must successfully complete and maintain lock out tag out training qualification.
