Job Description
Seeking a Plant Operator for our wastewater treatment plant in San Diego.
Schedules:
Monday through Friday 12 midnight to 9am shift
Some WEEKEND DAYS required (Two to three Saturdays or Sundays per month required*)
Starting Pay: $23/hr
Summary:
Your primary responsibility will be to treat wastewater determine water quality and release treated water to city publicly owned treatment works as well as maintenance installation and repairs of wastewater plants mechanical equipment including gas and diesel engines heat exchangers fans valves compressors storage tanks pumps of various types overhead cranes and hoists. Operate multiple pumps mixers rake shovel broom pressure washer. Connect and disconnect hoses. Testing of the material to determine effectiveness of treatment. Complete Plant Logs and Manifests.
The Wastewater Plant Operator/Maintenance Technician plays a significant role in maintaining the safety and health of the environment. REQUIREMENTS:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to lift 55 lbs or more
- Experience as a journeyman working in the installation maintenance repair and troubleshooting of process equipment of the type used in wastewater treatment facilities
- Maintenance experience (preferred)
- The ability to learn procedures related to safe handling of materials
- Committed to growth in a company

- Good eyehand coordination
- Organizational ability
- The ability to be crosstrained to perform other jobs as needed
- Ability to communicate with others for safety and efficiency requirements
