Navigate your career to the Board of Water Supply!TheHonolulu Board of Water Supplyis looking for a Geographic Information System Analyst IIto help design and produce routine thematic map projects and applications research and analyze a variety of data sources and update the water infrastructure in the GIS database.
As an Geographic Information System Analyst II your duties and responsibilities will include:- Participating in the maintenance and quality control of the GIS database which includes researching reviewing analyzing interpreting and preparing data from asbuilt construction drawings field sketches reports and other documents for entry into the GIS database.
- Supporting BWS users and programs needed in a variety of geospatial analyses maps projects and applications.
- Designing and producing routine multilayered maps illustrations and apps using GIS software to support GIS cartographic services for the Department.
- Assisting senior GIS Analysts with GIS user support outreach and data maintenance and quality control.
- Performing other duties and responsibilities of the position.

At time of application you must be a citizen national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a noncitizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from a regionallyaccredited fouryear college or university with major work in physical or natural science geography engineering planning computer science or a related field.Substitution: Work experience may be substituted for a bachelors degree on a yearforyear basis. Such experience must have provided the knowledge skills and analytical ability normally gained from attainment of a bachelors degree.The education requirement must be met at the time of application. Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionallyaccredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program evidence of comparability or an original transcript.Verification Requirement: In order to be given credit for your education clearly list your education credentials on your application. As part of the hiring process you may be asked to furnish documentation to verify your education to satisfy this education qualification requirement. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Six months of experience using GIS software in the design and production of thematic maps and other applications.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Possession of an appropriate valid Hawaii State drivers license as required.Examination Process
