About Dioxycle
Dioxycle is pioneering breakthrough carbon utilization technologies that convert industrial emissions into sustainable chemicals with unprecedented energy and cost efficiency. By displacing fossil fuels for the production of key chemicals Dioxycle has the potential to ultimately reduce over 800 million tons of CO2 per year representing over 2% of the worlds emissions.
At the core of our process is a novel carbon electrolyzer a machine capable of using just electricity and water to convert carbon emissions back into valuable everyday essential chemicals. Our team is innovating across chemical mechanical and system engineering to turn carbon transformation into an economically feasible industrial reality through this completely novel technological approach. Having completed our mediumscale ProofofConcept electrolyzer we are now working towards a firstofitskind largescale industrial prototype and are assembling key partnerships for future commercial rollout.
We are supported by worldclass funders including Lowercarbon Capital Breakthrough Energy Ventures and Gigascale Capital and have raised $37M to date. Your Mission
Dioxycle is hiring a Junior Test Bench Engineer to take care of our electrolysis test benches and prototypes. As a junior Test Bench Engineer you will have a key handson role designing assembling and troubleshooting automated test will apply mechanical electrical and software skills in your every day work contributing to continued improvement and operation of our extensive electrolyzer test systems. You will implement different regulation loops for pressure temperature flow etc and more generally contribute to the definition of the automation strategy.
Your Responsibilities
Design construction and improvement of endtoend test benches including the mechanical electrical software and process parts
Troubleshooting and maintenance of the test benches including instrumentation and controls
Design of the electrolysis subsystems using thermal and fluid calculations
Testing and validation of the subsystems through the implementation of test protocols
Implementation and tuning of PID controllers
Writing of documentation
Benchmark suppliers and contact them
Maintain inventory and improve the inventory system
We are looking for a pragmatic handson and versatile Test Bench Engineerwho is dedicated to advancing our mission and possesses the skills outlined below.
Skillset we are looking for
- Having experience in combustion engine/fuel cell/ electrolyzerbased systems
- Mechanical gas and liquid management system building experience including knowledge of relevant fitting types
- Experience with sensors and actuators for measurement and control of gases and liquids
- Realization of a heat balance
- Calculation of a pressure drop in a fluid line
- Coding of automation sequences in Python or C is a plus
- Experience using CAD programs is a plus
- Speaking English as it is our daily work language
