Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

A position in the Program Management Office (PMO) within aircraft simulation responsible for supporting the planning execution monitoring and control of projects. Experienced in engineering environments new product development crossfunctional team building subcontracts and business administration the Project Manager will lead smallcap projects for the company while also acting as the deputy program manager for largercap Programs. The Project Manager role will primarily support the Program Manager assisting in driving performance across various functions of the company and communicating with project stakeholders. The Project Manager will have strong word processing and presentation skills be capable of generating work estimates project plans requests for proposals and negotiating subcontracts with vendors tracked to successful completion. The Project Manager will be required to build schedules and project plans collect meeting minutes and oversee action items while integrating and operating business systems in support of Program quality delivery and costs. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accountable for the project teams compliance to contract requirements quality and timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Leads small projects (e.g. FTDs Simulator Upgrades and Services) from start to finish.
  • Supports mid to largesize projects (e.g. FFS and Major Upgrades) serving as administrative support to the Program Manager and alternate when needed interfacing with key stakeholders.
  • Manages supplemental contract services beyond devices such as Maintenance Training Spares Logistics Support Technical Publications and Aftermarket Change Order deliverables.
  • Develops SubContract proposal requests and statements of work and leads negotiations of technical requirements terms and pricing on behalf of the Program.
  • Generates frequent updates on Project and SubContractor performance communicating through performance reports record keeping meeting minutes and actions items.
  • Oversee project logistics collaborating with Warehouse Receiving and Shipping departments to ensure material flow returns and service is ontime and properly addressed.
  • Supports inputs to the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) performing reviews of ontime delivery performance to project baseline risk assessment and variance analysis.
  • Monitor Engineering performance communicate requirements to design team working closely with Project Engineer on product configuration and change management.
  • Support inputs to various company Business Systems e.g. software tools used in Programs resource planning project quality and portfolio management (PPM) solutions.
  • Work with Customers (e.g. Flight Training Centers U.S. Department of Defense subContract Agencies) and/or Regulatory Authorities (FAA EASA etc.) as TRUs liaison to ensure positive relationships device compliance and readiness for acceptance and/or qualification.
  • Engage in continuous improvement of PMO processes and procedures defined by TRUs ISO 9001 QMS system.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree required in Business Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in project management related field preferably serving military and department of defense contracts.
  • Background in Project or SubContracts Management within an Engineering and SupplyChain environment is required (Aviation industry is preferred).
  • Experience working within IEEEInternational Standards and Systems for software engineering knowledge of Software life cycle processes preferred.
  • Experience with ANSI/ASQ Q(or equivalent quality management system) preferred.
  • Experience with ERP / MRP Business Systems use of SAP or Infor is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to lead motivate and influence Project teams
  • Ability to plan create and confidently communicate to large groups and/or highranking officials.
  • Ability to understand and communicate using US DOD contracting terms and processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Understands and able to work independently with general business tools used in Project Management Quality Management Work Estimating Cost Accounting and Scheduling.
  • Strong skills in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of products and/or data processing tools and techniques for performance analysis
