Cary Medical Center has an exciting opening for a Nurse to join our One Day Surgery department. The successful candidate will provide care in the ambulatory setting directed toward meeting both the psychosocial and physical needs of the patient in One Day Surgery and Endoscopy Suite. This individual will provide care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations.
Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Collects data and reviews health status of patient during PreAdmission Screening or on admission to One day surgery. Completes anesthesia preop evaluation sheet.
2. Admits patient to the unit and verbally verifies identity with name and date of birth.
3. Verifies properly completed lab work permits H&P and preop checklist.
4. Obtains temperature pulse respiration blood pressure weight 02 Sat and allergies.
5. Informs appropriate personnel of pertinent information obtained.
6. Directs patients to the proper departments for prescribed exams.
7. Gives care to the patient as indicated by individual patient needs before and after their surgical procedure endoscopic procedure or other procedures through One Day Surgery.
8. Keeps current and accurate records on all patients.
1. Current ACLS and BCLS Certification.
2. Ability to work unsupervised in capacity of a licensed professional nurse providing quality care to One Day Surgery patients.
3. Additional language desirable.
4. Basic computer knowledge.
5. Ability to organize and prioritize work duties to the best advantage of the patient.
6. Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current licensure in the State of Maine.
Schedule:
With consideration to our patients and staff needs you may need to work on days evenings nights weekends and/or holidays and may need to float to other units.
