Are you ready to showcase your expertise in boiler plant operations The Department of Corrections State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Phoenix is seeking a skilled and motivated Corrections Plant Mechanic to join our team. In this vital role you will manage and maintain critical systems including steam boilers heating systems chilled water systems cooling towers and backup generators. In this position you will be responsible for repairing and performing routine and preventative maintenance on all equipment to ensure optimal functionality. You will clean and maintain central air compressors in both the plant and boiler room and monitor hot water and chilled water expansion tanks to ensure they are operating at the correct pressures. You will identify and address issues correct any deficiencies noted by the boiler inspector and test various types of water including chilled condenser hot and condensate water. Additionally you will keep detailed logs of testing activities and manage inventory for water treatment chemicals reagents and other essential supplies. You will also supervise inmate workers assigned to janitorial and maintenance tasks within the plant and ensure a safe and secure working environment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
