Job Description

Education:

Requires a high school diploma an equivalent certificate or a bronze level WorkKeys certification.

Experience:

Requires a minimum of one year manufacturing spray painting or equivalent experience. May be required to complete department specific certifications.

Working Conditions:

Particularly disagreeable working conditions due to exposure to paint fumes.

Job Summary:

To apply finishes to a variety of parts or assemblies. May be required to assist lower grade Painters.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Working from oral and written instructions and established procedures prepare painted surfaces spray primers or various paint finishes to parts and assemblies. Uses some judgment in obtaining desired finish.
    • Selects and adjusts spray gun in accordance with instructions performs masking and sanding duties as required prior to painting and checks own work for coverage.
  • Professionally applies paint to surface maintaining finish requirements acceptable to shop supervision and quality control.
  • Adjusts and cleans spray gun and paint equipment or other company tools checked out for performing job assignments with appropriate solvents.
  • May perform application of anticorrosive agents to parts and assemblies.
  • Responsible only for own work and quality of own work.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
