A Day in the Life and the Impact Youll Make:
DEKRA North America is responsible for all our North American business units in the DEKRA Corporation. The Tax Director will be part of the Companys shared services team. The position will support multiple business units across United States and Canada as well as have oversight over the Americas region which includes entities in LATAM reporting to the SVP Finance & Accounting within the Corporate Accounting & Reporting function.
What Youll Do:
The Tax Director will be directly responsible for the tax related matters for the DEKRA North American tax group composed of 12 reporting units. This will include actual tax filings tax provision preparation and liaising with our outside tax accounting firm. Key responsibilities include the following functions pertaining to perform a variety of tax activities related:
- Preparation and review of federal and state quarterly estimated tax payments.
- Review and prepare interim and yearend tax provisions including current taxable income calculation
- and deferred tax roll forward.
- Liaise with finance and accounting personnel to collect and analyze financial information for assigned
- business operations.
- Develop an understanding of the businesses for the Americas region.
- Assist with responses to tax authority inquiries and ensure timely and accurate compliance with all reporting requirements.
- Review international tax implications for intercompany transactions transfer pricing and crossborder arrangements in coordination with group tax leadership.
- Support international tax planning initiatives such as entity restructuring supply chain optimization or repatriation strategies.
- Partner with the corporate tax function in Germany to ensure alignment on groupwide tax strategies and compliance.
- Support tax aspects of mergers acquisitions or divestitures from a multijurisdictional perspective.
- Stay informed on both domestic and international tax developments to proactively address compliance risks and leverage planning opportunities.
- Stay abreast of federal and state legislative changes that may impact tax filings and tax provision
- Assist with various tax projects as assignd relating to tax audits and tax planning.
- Apply advanced skills to improve operational and financial effectiveness of the organization and
- provides relevant information and recommendations to assist management in making sound tax
- planning decisions.
- Identify and implement process and system improvements as it relates to tax reporting.
- Support reporting requirements with auditors and outside tax preparers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

- Bachelors Degree (B.S.) in Accounting. Masters Degree in Business Taxation preferred.
- Extensive background in federal and state tax preparation required.
- Minimum of 4 to 7 years of tax experience preferably with exposure to global tax issues through a Big Four accounting firm or multinational corporation.
- Certified Public Accountant required.
- Public Accounting in a nationally recognized firm a strong plus.

- Ability to work flexible and long hours as needed

Compensation:
The base pay for this position is $185000 annually to $210000 annually. Actual pay is based on several factors including market location and positionrelated knowledge skills and experience.
