General Summary:

The Director of Advancement Services is a key leadership role responsible for managing and optimizing the operational backbone of the Advancement Office. This position ensures data integrity donor information management reporting and analytics prospect research and moves management gift processing and overall support services that enable strategic fundraising and alumni engagement efforts. The Director plays a critical role in supporting decisionmaking through datadriven insights managing systems and processes to maximize efficiency and compliance and leading a team focused on continuous improvement. The Advancement services team works collaboratively with each other development officers clinicians and other teams across Sheppard Pratt to ensure that the organization meets its fundraising goals.

Principal Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Data Management & Reporting
    • Oversee the maintenance accuracy and security of the donor database (e.g. Raisers Edge).
    • Develop and maintain systems for tracking and reporting philanthropic activity.
    • Provide analytics and dashboards to support strategic fundraising and stewardship efforts.
    • Import data into Raisers Edge for grateful patient program events new acquisitions
    • Ensure accurate and timely gift entry acknowledgment and receipting processes.
    • Build lists for appeals and events
  • Prospect Research & Management
    • Lead prospect research efforts to identify evaluate and track potential major donors.
    • Work with gift officers to support moves management portfolio development and donor strategy.
    • Develop reports and tools to monitor pipeline activity and prospect engagement.
    • Lead annual Blackbaud WealthPoint screening and predictive modeling through Blackbaud Target Analytics.
  • Operational Leadership
    • Manage the Advancement Services team including database administrator/gift processor and prospect researcher.
    • Set document and maintain policies and procedures for moves management data management gift acceptance and compliance.
    • Manage gift officer metrics for the department
    • Coordinate with IT Finance and other departments to align systems and processes.
  • Compliance & Integrity
    • Ensure adherence to ethical standards donor intent IRS regulations HIPAA and industry best practices.
    • Manage data privacy and confidentiality protocols.
  • Technology & Innovation
    • Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to enhance advancement operations.
    • Serve as a key stakeholder in CRM and other system implementations or upgrades.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities Required:

  1. Bachelors degree required; advanced degree or certifications (e.g. CFRE CASE AASP) preferred.
  2. Minimum 57 years of experience in advancement services or nonprofit operations including leadership roles. Familiarity with advancement practices in healthcare or large nonprofit organizations preferred.
  3. Strong experience with Raisers Edge fundraising CRMs (e.g. Salesforce NPSP etc.). Experience with Omatic cloud and Omatic list management; Blackbaud ResearchPoint WealthPoint and Target Analytics preferred.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of fundraising principles gift management and processing and prospect management.
  5. Excellent analytical strategic and critical thinking and project management skills.
  6. Experience leading complex projects
  7. Proven ability to manage staff prioritize tasks and drive process improvement.
  8. Exceptional communication collaboration and leadership skills.
  9. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau Power BI) is preferred.
  10. Knowledge of IRS charitable giving regulations and CASE reporting standards preferred.

Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors including but not limited to years and level of related experience.
