Job Description

Job Title: Lead Database Administrator

Location: Fairfax VA
Clearance Required: Secret

Plateau GRP is seeking a highly experienced Lead Database Administrator (DBA) to design implement and maintain highavailability database systems in support of U.S. Army missioncritical applications. The successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise (SME) in Microsoft SQL Server 2016 ensure traceability and transparency of database processes and lead Business Intelligence (BI) initiatives using Microsofts BI stack.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement highavailability database architectures with a focus on longterm scalability and performance optimization.
  • Lead the implementation and management of MS SQL Server 2016 High Availability configurations.
  • Maintain and enforce robust database logging and tracking processes documenting all changes tasks backups and anomalies with full traceability.
  • Perform capacity planning and tuning to ensure peak performance of all database components.
  • Lead cube development and Business Intelligence (BI) initiatives using:
    • Microsoft Analysis Services
    • Microsoft Reporting Services
  • Conduct routine database maintenance backup and recovery and disaster recovery operations.
  • Collaborate with software developers system engineers and stakeholders to align database performance with application requirements and mission needs.
  • Ensure data integrity security and compliance with DoD and Army standards.


Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in database administration and architecture.
  • Subject matter expertlevel proficiency with:
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and newer
    • SQL Server High Availability features
    • Microsoft BI Stack including Analysis Services (SSAS) and Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Strong experience with database monitoring performance tuning and issue resolution.
  • Proven ability to document and manage database changes with clear traceability.

Required System Experience:

  • Handson experience with at least one of the following U.S. Army systems:
    • TAMIS
    • SAASMOD
    • GCSSA / GCSSMC
    • OISMC Tactical
    • FMSWeb
    • AOS
    • WebAmmo
