Job Description

SUMMARY

Responsible for the installation layout monitoring and maintenance of all network security and IT infrastructure components. Plan design analyze and provide technical support for data and telephony communications network and IT infrastructure. Conduct research and evaluation of network and IT infrastructure technology and recommend purchases of network and IT infrastructure equipment and services. Train and supervise other network support specialists and plan coordinate and implement network security measures.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical skills

Analyze and resolve technical problems for established network.

Serve as technical specialist in network problems and emergencies.

Troubleshoot and resolve network and security production problems.

Plan test recommend and implement network and security hardware and software.

Escalate high severity issues and chronic problems to appropriate management level.

Install configure and maintain network and security components.

Conduct technical research on network upgrades and components to determine feasibility cost time required and compatibility with current system.

Research technical manuals and brochures to determine equipment which meets establishment requirements.

Confer with vendors to evaluate and validate hardware firmware software and telecommunications equipment and recommend procurement in coordination with department and organization standards.

Recommend network solutions for short medium and longrange network projects.

Work with vendors to resolve complex network problems and to learn about new data communications technology.

Assist in the support of all aspects of Tenaris North America IT facilities as applicable to the region which includes data center communication rooms video conferencing access control printer network connectivity HVAC/UPS cabling wireless and related services.

Analyze traffic and workload for optimum network performance to ensure organizations objectives are met.

Recommend corrective actions in order to ensure high quality efficient network performance.

Oversee or assist in onsite installation of communications hardware.

Administrative and Management skills

Provide network documentation training and guidance to peers.

Maintain hardware inventory updated and collaborate with the maintenance contract renewal process.

Provide timely followthrough with customers and IT peers on IT service requests and tasks.

Work as a team member with other technical staff such as systems and applications to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems. Act as a backup support when necessary.

Maintain confidentiality with regard to the information being processed stored or accessed in the network devices.

Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.

Collaborate in the preparation tracking and reporting of telecom and IT projects budget.

Promote and adhere to ITIL and IT Tenaris methodologies policies procedures and standards. Maintain a consistent high quality of work across all responsibilities.

Organize training programs and prepare checklists and processes for other team members as well as help desk.

Develop and monitor security procedures in compliance with Tenaris security policies to safeguard systems from physical harm viruses unauthorized users and damage to data.

Project Management skills

Consult with users and evaluate requirements recommend designs provide cost analysis plan projects and coordinate tasks for installation of integrated data voice and storage networks.

Participate in review of IT Communication and Infrastructure projects and work with the stakeholders prepare the necessary scoping documents including investigation of impact risk compliance cost and benefits.

Perform a support role for the region in networkrelated global infrastructure projects including definition of regional requirements input and validation to global designs and oversight of regional technology implementations.

Participate in the preparation and submission of requests for quotes and capital submissions for all equipment required for providing communication services.

Determine plan layout for new hardware or modifications to existing layout.

Participate in other IT projects as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 6Years relevent work experience
  • Experience with Cisco Checkpoint APC Orion (Solarwinds) RADIUS
  • Wireless LAN WAN ASA IP Telephony Power Management
  • CCIE or CCNPcertificate preferred
