Job Description
Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of the largest school divisions in Alberta serving the education needs of approximately 17950 students in 42 schools. Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting two parttime (0.532 to 0.809 FTE) Division 2 Teacher at Strathcona Christian Academy Elementary School. Indicate in cover letter which position you would prefer. One teaching assignment includes:Grade 4 homeroom and will involve teaching Language Arts Mathematics and Bible. The other teaching assignment includes Grade 5 homeroom and will involve teaching Language Arts Mathematics Social Studies Physical Education Bible and Art.
Strathcona Christian Academy Elementary serves approximately 600 students in kindergarten to Grade 6 with 28 teaching staffand nine support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park AB.
Strathcona Christian Academy Elementary offers an Alternative Christian program with a mission to challenge students through Christcentred education to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord in order to pursue a life of godly character personal and academic excellence and service to others.
Alternative Christian schools within EIPS follow the regular provincial curricula interpreted from an Evangelical Christian Philosophy. Applicants should include relevant information about their Christian philosophy of education in their cover letter. A teacher in this program is expected to bring a Christian viewpoint to issues and topics from all curricular areas.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education degree
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Effective organization and classroom management skills
- Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe supported and challenged
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Experience or familiarity analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
- Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice
- Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
