Division of Gaming:
Ensures that limited gaming is conducted honestly fairly and competitively and is free from criminal and corrupt elements.
A typical day of a Business Analyst:
The professional in this position will serve as a backup and assist to the Analyst V position to analyze the Divisions business processes and determine best practices for software usage within the Division and report to the Analyst V. Additionally they will be a cosubject matter expert on PSR MyLO and Gentax. This position will research training needs and content for PSR MyLO and Gentax and will also collaborate with the Analyst V to provide information to vendors accounting and financial services Appointing Authority OIT other state Division and stakeholders with training modified or implement new business practices including rationale intent and motive.
Primary Duties:
Business Process Management
Ongoing analysis of existing business processes to track tangible output of the Divisions sections use of reporting systems MyLO and Gentax
Assists the supervisor in collaboration with vendors to determine ways to enhance the system to meet ongoing strategic objectives and goals
Recommends new or modifies existing reports to focus on key business requirements for productions output errors and case management to the supervisor
Software and Data Management
Assists the supervisor with working with the DOR Project Management Office OIT and vendor to ensure all areas of database development and implementation are covered to acceptable standards to meet the mission of the Division
Serves as the Divisions super user in reporting systems MyLO and Gentax
Collaborates with supervisor to design database reports used to extract needed information for statistical analysis
Research and Data Analysis
Assist with the research and data analysis in response to internal and external customer requests
Utilizes best practices summarizes statistics and trends to assist managements goal of improving overall performance and efficiency

Education and Experience:A combination ofrelated educationand/or relevant experience insystem administration and/or licensing and case management systemsequal to six (6) years
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to pass a background check/ Tax Check.
CONDITIONS of EMPLOYMENT:
Applicants must successfully pass a background investigation and a tax check prior to appointment to positions in the Gaming Division.
Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado drivers license (at the time of application).
Must be able to pass a preemployment background check.
Attends all DOR compliance training modules.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
Prior experience in a government or regulatory environment specifically in licensing and case management.
Experience in managing background checks case reporting and resolving customer complaints.
Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft software for reporting specifically Microsoft Excel.
Propensity for independent thinking as an autonomous self motivator.
Prior experience in data analysis.
Exceptional interpersonal and team working skills.
Excellent communication skills particularly in providing customer service to a lay population with little or no technical knowledge or background.
Strong analytic thinking research and problemsolving skills.
Ability to hear various viewpoints and synthesize them for digestibility to stakeholders and general public.
Experience in working with various sections of an organization and come to agreements that benefit all parties.
Conditions of Employment with theCDOR:
Employees are in a position of public trust in the performance of their job duties and must operate in a manner that maintains the highest standards of honesty integrity and public confidence.
As a condition of employment with the CDOR all personnel must file all necessary Colorado Individual Income Tax (CIIT) returns and pay tax obligations therefore all employees must undergo a preemployment evaluation of their tax records/accounts to ensure compliance with this policy. Final candidates must also complete a successful background investigation and reference check prior to appointment. Certain positions based on duties may require scheduled background investigations.
Pursuant to theUniversal Driving Standards Policy any worker who will be expected to drive a Stateowned vehicle is responsible for maintaining a safe driving record and a valid driver license prior to driving any Stateowned vehicle.
To be compliant with the new fleet vehicle policy Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) will be pulled for review for workers who:
Have an assigned State fleet vehicle
Are required to operate a vehicle as part of the position
Utilize a State fleet vehicle as a pool vehicle
