BUYER II (Permanent)
Our client an established manufacturing company in the WNY area is looking to hire a Buyer to join their team. Responsibilities:
- Perform daily responsibilities to support the purchasing operations of a designated manufacturing facility
- Purchase parts & materials from both domestic and international suppliers to support the manufacturing of specific inhouse products; primarily focus on domestic procurement strategies
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with vendors beginning with initial purchase contract negotiations
- Negotiate various terms within contracts including but not limited to pricing minimum order requirements lead times etc.
- Assess suppliers ontime performance sending corrective action plans to those not meeting expectations
- Act as the primary liaison between Operations and Supply Chain Management
- Manage inventory levels keeping supplies instock to ensure optimum & timely performance
- Regularly assess material requirements to reduce shortages and expedite the ordering process ensuring fulfillment in a timely manner
- Monitor order statuses to ensure ontime delivery
- Effectively communicate material delays to production teams
- Work alongside other departments to develop and implement cost reduction strategies
- Participate in implementing Lean & Safety program initiatives
- Develop ISO procedures and create working papers to ensure compliance and quality is maintained
- Research source & qualify new suppliers to drive down costs and increase efficiency
- Own several Supply Chain Program initiatives including safety stock Kanban consignment inventory etc.
- Analyze current processes/procedures for areas of improvement in an effort to streamline efforts and reduce lead times
- Work well in a team environment as well as independently
- Complete special projects in a timely manner juggling several at a time with ease
- Other duties as assigned/as necessary
Details:
- Position is fulltime direct hire
- 100% inoffice flexibility to WFH as needed
- $65000 $75000 annually depending on experience

- Associate s degree (or equivalent experience) required Bachelors in a related field preferred
- 2 years relative experience in purchasing
- Strong computer skills specifically Microsoft Office Citrix or equivalent systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong technical skills
