Administers occupational therapy treatments according to the supervising Occupational Therapist s plan of care.
Communicates regularly with the Supervising Therapist DON and interdisciplinary healthcare team members regarding patient progress issues and care plans.
Provides monthly communication to patients families or guardians regarding progress home program updates and therapy/equipment needs.
Maintains accurate and timely documentation including daily treatment notes portions of monthly progress reports and discharge summaries.
Ensures patient confidentiality is upheld in accordance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
Provides consistent updates to families/caregivers (minimum once a month) via phone text or written correspondence.
Adheres to the Florida State Occupational Therapy Practice Act and American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) guidelines.
Submits comprehensive 6month progress summaries to the Supervising Therapist at least 48 hours before patient reevaluations.
Identifies and responds appropriately to urgent or emergent patient situations in accordance with protocol.
Maintains a safe clean and organized therapy environment including exam rooms and supplies.
Exhibits professional demeanor and conduct at all times.
Follows all policies and procedures established by Little Angels.
Builds and sustains collaborative working relationships with physicians staff and management.
Adheres to assigned clinic hours as approved by the Manager.
Maintains and shares an accessible daily schedule with nursing and therapy staff.
Attends staff meetings as requested.
Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
