partner staffing on behalf of our Client we are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic team in Calgary. This role is ideal for a technically strong designer who excels in delivering innovative sustainable and codecompliant mechanical building systems. You will be responsible for the mechanical design and coordination of HVAC plumbing and fire protection systems across a diverse portfolio of building projects.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Lead mechanical design efforts from concept through construction for building projects in commercial institutional government and residential sectors.
Prepare detailed design documents including HVAC layouts ductwork piping schematics and schedules using AutoCAD and Revit.
Collaborate closely with architects structural and electrical teams and clients to ensure integrated and coordinated designs.
Perform mechanical calculations (heating/cooling loads ventilation rates pressure drops).
Conduct site reviews support construction administration and review shop drawings and RFIs.
Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes standards (ASHRAE NBC NFPA etc.) and municipal requirements.
Mentor junior designers and provide technical guidance as needed.
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field.
7 years of mechanical design experience in the building sector with at least 5 years in a senior/lead capacity.
Strong proficiency in Revit AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with mechanical simulation tools (e.g. HAP TRACE) is a strong asset.
Solid understanding of local building codes and standards.
Effective communicator and team player with a proactive solutionsoriented mindset.
Experience with sustainability and energyefficient design (LEED Net Zero etc.) is an asset.

Responsibilities: The Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following: Attend site meetings Serve as main point of contact for the builder for any project-related questions/requests Understand project specifications and objectives Proactively identify potential issues Report on milestone dates and deliverables Respond to field issues and questions with engineering and other resources as required Investigate claims promptly and resolve them fairly Proactive approach to change orders Support and engage in a collaborative work environment Liaise with Architect, Client, Contractor, Owner, Specialty Consultants, Project Manager, Job Captain and Project Engineer Complete time critical reports including Request for Information, Contemplated Revisions, Change Orders, Field Review, Pricing Review, Progress Claim Review Issue and sign off on Site Deficiency Reports, verify and accept As Built Drawings and Operational and Maintenance Manuals and ensure all require
