Job Description
AbbVies Biotherapeutics and Genetic Medicine Protein Science Group is seeking a highly skilled and selfmotivated scientist to join our Biomolecular Interaction Team. This role offers the opportunity to make significant contributions to all Discovery Research Therapeutic Areas and Projects by providing analytical and functional characterization of our biopharmaceutical products including monoclonal antibodies multispecifics and antibodylike biologics. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of highthroughput biologics screening and characterization methods (e.g. SPR BLI ELISA FACS etc.) and possess a solid foundation in protein sciences and antibody discovery with a proven ability to work effectively on crossfunctional teams. Key Responsibilities:
- Independently develop and execute SPR (Biacore and Carterra platforms) assays to generate objective selection criteria for panels of antibodies multispecifics and antibodylike biologics.
- Evaluate and integrate proteinprotein interaction technologies (e.g. SPR BLI ELISA etc.) to support therapeutic candidate selection demonstrating strong problemsolving skills.
- Implement highthroughput epitope binning for large panels of monoclonal antibodies and develop deep knowledge of antibody sequence/function relationships.
- Perform antibody Fc characterization studies to support regulatory submissions.
- Understand relevant scientific literature and apply the theoretical framework to solve problems within the scientific discipline in a timely manner.
- Continuously seek to improve existing laboratory methods and processes.
- Analyze document and report data concisely and rigorously.
- Provide project updates analyses and advice to crossfunctional teams and senior management.
- Present original work internally across departments and at internal and external scientific conferences; may author or coauthor peerreviewed scientific papers or patents.
Qualifications :
- BS or MS in biology chemistry biochemistry or related field with typically 7 (BS) or 5 (MS) years of experience.
- Demonstrated ability to independently design execute and interpret critical experiments to answer scientific questions.
- Strong knowledge and handson experience with analytical/functional characterization of biologics using Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) platforms (e.g. Biacore T200 and 8K Carterra LSA).
- Broad technical knowledge of various analytical biophysical and structural methods such as SEC MS HDXMS Xray crystallography DSF DLS etc.
- Experience with biologics monoclonal antibodies and/or protein therapeutics.
- Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously within timelines.
- Goaloriented team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong cando attitude and can operate effectively in a fastpaced multidisciplinary environment.
- Ability to adapt to rapid changes in project priorities and timelines.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our shortterm incentive programs.
