Job Description

We are looking for a Chemistry Specialist Manufacturing Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team. In this role you will apply scientific and technical expertise to improve manufacturing processes support the production of our detection products and assist in the transfer of new products into manufacturing.

Youll be central to maintaining the performance of our chemicals explosives and narcotics detection technologies through handson investigations data analysis and collaboration with crossfunctional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and improve manufacturing process performance for detection products.
  • Provide scientific guidance and technical input to the production team.
  • Plan and execute experiments investigations and rootcause analyses.
  • Analyse and interpret performance data; generate technical reports.
  • Support New Product Development (NPD) to ensure successful handover to production.
  • Contribute to lifecycle support of detection products.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Production Quality R&D Engineering) to solve technical challenges.
  • Provide uptodate technical advice to Manufacturing Programme Managers and Product Managers.
  • Support field trials and offsite testing when required.
  • Work autonomously and manage own priorities effectively.

 


Qualifications :

About You

  • A degree in a scientific discipline (Chemistry Analytical Science etc.).
  • Proven experience in an applied scientific manufacturing or engineering environment Ion spectroscopy preferred
  • Excellent data analysis and experimental design skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Highly selfmotivated and proactive with good time management skills.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:

  • PhD in a relevant scientific field.
  • Knowledge of ion mobility spectrometry and ion chemistry.
  • Experience with analytical instrument design.
  • Understanding of crossdisciplinary engineering (Mechanical Software Electronics).

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and investigations simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problemsolving capabilities.
  • Capable of working independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • Able to communicate complex technical findings to diverse audiences.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing or production environment with handson tasks.
  • Sound understanding of relevant technical standards principles and techniques.
