Cake Decorator
Primary Responsibilities
- Greet assist and ring out all customers politely
- To accurately record customers order/ requests for cakes and other bakery items
- To process customer purchases quickly and accurately by the operation of an electronic cash register scanner and scale
- To review the perishable department Communication Board daily for updated materials and follow the guidelines posted for the Sampling Program and intercom announcements. To greet all customers respond to customer questions/requests and explain store policies in a courteous manner
- To ice and decorate cakes and pastries to customers and company specifications
- To record outofstock conditions and the time they occur and report to the department manager
- To fill/stock: donut case cookie case cake case other display cases and counter and display tables throughout the store
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:Cake Decorator reports directly to the Bakery Manager
Qualifications
- Basic Mathematics (Add subtract multiply divide)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Prior supervisory experience
- Prior experience with oven convection oven mixer fryer bread slicer stove wrapper scales and cleaning materials
Specific tasks
- Lift twist move and carry a maximum of 50 lbs. from the floor to shelving or overhead racks in the store and cooler/freezer
- Maintain active signage and pricing in all departmental areas
- Care for signs banners and debris from daily operations
- Accurately and efficiently handle cash debit/credit EBT/WIC coupons and vouchers
- Respond to customers coworkers and vendor questions and responses promptly and politely
- Proper usage of store phone and intercom systems
- To supervise/perform the checking of case and cooler temperatures 4 times daily utilizing the time keeping system to record each check.
Work Environment Note:
Inside work with transitions of heat/cold/humidity/dust from backdoor/compressors/cooler/freezer/preparation area.
