The Hazardous Waste Management Program is seeking an experienced Business Strategy Manager. This leader will utilize datadriven insights to develop strategic program initiatives evaluate program effectiveness drive ongoing improvements and uphold accountability in delivering equitable and impactful services to the community.

About the Position:

In this critical role the Business Strategy Manager leads the charge in developing actionable plans that deliver measurable outcomes while championing environmental stewardship equity and community wellbeing. By ensuring alignment with the Programs goals this position plays a pivotal role in driving success and amplifying community impact. Through strategic leadership datadriven decisionmaking and crossfunctional collaboration the Business Strategy Manager fosters continuous improvement strengthens accountability and achieves meaningful results in public health environmental outcomes and service excellence.

This expertlevel position encompasses a range of responsibilities including:

  • Administration and development of Programs annual work plan.
  • Performance management and tracking progress toward the goals outlined in the 10year Management Plan.
  • Establishing and maintaining advanced business intelligence systems and robust data infrastructure.
  • Evaluating key priorities and initiatives to drive improvements in performance and service delivery.
  • Creating and managing datadriven metrics and dashboards to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Utilizing continuous improvement practices to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency

About the Team:
The Hazardous Waste Management Program is a regional coalition of governments dedicated to protecting public health and the environment by reducing the threats posed by hazardous materials. Serving King County Washingtons 2.3 million residents and 70000 businesses the Program operates with an annual budget of $21 million and a dedicated team of approximately 70 staff members.

Our mission is to promote healthier communities and a cleaner environment by helping residents and businesses safely manage hazardous materials. We achieve this through a range of services including household hazardous waste collection and disposal prevention programs and policy initiatives. To learn more about our work visit .

This position is part of the King County Department of Natural Resources and Parks Water and Land Resources Division (WLRD) one of the Programs key participating agencies. WLRD leads efforts to protect and restore clean water healthy habitats and resilient communities in the face of climate change. Our work includes flood hazard reduction stormwater management and environmental restoration all guided by principles of equity innovation and collaboration.
