You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailHOME Youth Services is seeking a Youth Navigator to join their team! The Youth Navigator provides service navigation and case management to youth to help them achieve their goals while ensuring a safe space. The person in this position will help model life skills and builds positive relationships while navigating public and social services available in the community. This position will crosstrain to work at other HYS sites as needed.
This vacancy is for the Monmouth location.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Four years of experience working or volunteering in a fastpaced customer service healthcare education social or community services or related publicfacing sectors. An equivalent combination of education experience and training may be accepted.
College course work in social sciences or related human services and experience working with vulnerable populations and/or youth or highrisk youth ages 1118 is preferred but not required.
CERTIFICATES LICENSES & REGISTRATION
Driver qualifications required for this position. Valid driver license insured vehicle available for use on the job and a satisfactory drive record for the past 3 years are required.
Candidate must pass Oregon Department of Human Services criminal background check.
Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment.
CPR/First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
Food Handlers Card or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Training in mandatory reporting privacy laws trauma informed care suicide intervention collaborative problem solving and recognizing and reporting child abuse & neglect. Annual training is required for this position.
Candidate must pass preemployment and random drug/alcohol screenings.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to build and maintain healthy boundaries and relationships with youth and community partners.
General understanding of deescalation rolemodeling and activelistening.
Proficiencies in the use of Microsoft Office such as Word and Outlook.
Ability to utilize video conferencing navigating and communicating on social media and general technology skills.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be allinclusive. Employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
Assists youth in developing and achieving their goals with a focus on health education employment and housing.
Identifies and connects with runaway and homeless youth in the community to increase access to services and pathways to housing.
Advocates for and obtains services for youth and their families.
Conducts assessments with youth to determine strengths needs service and housing eligibility etc.
Ensures access to housing assessments and resources.
Maintains and updates all necessary databases for tracking youth progress program objectives and outcomes and contractual and licensing requirements.
Answers the phone: direct calls or take messages appropriately (land line cell phone and social media).
Serves as a mentor support and shift lead to coworkers.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Frequent driving in all weather conditions throughout Marion and Polk County.
Manual dexterity for handling computers devices and office equipment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to remain calm and engage in deescalation techniques using traumainformed care during heightened interactions.
Ability to exercise judgement and quick decisionmaking skills in response to guest or client incidents.
Requires ability to stay calm and alert during shift.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Close quarters often with a client population experiencing homelessness substance use disorders and/or severe and persistent mental illness and/or unpredictable behavior.
Outdoor and Indoor work environment with frequent interruptions and demands.
Variable and flexible work hours including holidays early mornings evenings and weekends.
Occasional trips into camps throughout Marion and Polk County.
Occasional exposure to biohazards requiring frequent use of PPE such as gloves masks eye protection protective clothing and shoes or boots.
Frequent exposure to animals and animal dander.
