Illinois Mathematics & Science Academy (IMSA) is seeking an individual to fill the role of Assistant Coach for the Boys Basketball team for the upcoming 2526 academic year.
Experience in a high school coaching is preferred. This is a stipend position that is based on experience in coaching. The assistant coach must be able to pass a background check pass a CPR/AED basic life saving course and possess a valid Illinois drivers license to be able to drive any of the IMSA vehicles which include up to a 14 passenger minibus. (no additional tests or endorsements are needed to operate these vehicles)
Any potential candidate will work under the direction of the Head Coach but must possess the skills to aid in practices drills & conditioning to increase the performance of athletes while also having the ability to help manage a team that would include:
Conduct practices in accordance with the head coachs direction & philosophy.
Work with our food service staff to provide meals for the athletes when off campus.
Attend practices & matches from the start of the high school season to potential state finals along with helping thehead coach with open gym times.
Transport students to games during the course of the high school season.
Any potential candidate must have or be willing to obtaineitherof the following requirements as per IHSA ByLaws:
(3) Completion of all IHSA mandatory training modules as required by the IHSA along with any State of Illinois mandated training modules as prescribed and assigned by GCN/OneNet)
