Job Description
Overview
Dohrn Transfer is your complete Midwestern transportation partner. We offer lessthantruckload truckload and valueadded services throughout our 10state service area. Our family operated company provides the attention and flexibility that only a regional carrier can backed by excellence in service and powerful logistical tools.
Dohrn is currently seeking a Part Time Safety Assistant at our Rock Island IL corporate office.
Hours: Monday Friday 1520 hours per week
Pay: $19.00/Hour
Position Summary:
To ensure compliance with all state and federal laws regarding Safety including DOT and OSHA.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Maintain accurate files/records
Gather scanned documentation
Maintain DOT recordable accident records and all documents required
Work directly with Zurich insurance and Fleet Safety using professional communication
Oversee the safety training files to ensure all required initial and recurrent training is completed
Audit hours of service
Maintain DOT Inspection reports through communication with the shop
Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Valid Driver License
High School completion or equivalent
Proficient in MS Excel and Word
Detailoriented analytical thinker and problemsolver
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
Ability to work in a team environment or independently
Excellent attendance
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Primarily sedentary work which involves sitting most of the time
May be occasionally required to exert up to 10 pounds of force and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects
The general office environment is favorable; Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are minimal hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise dust etc;
Visual Acuity including regular use of items including a computer screen or monitor
Manual dexterity is regularly required including fingering grasping and typing; manual dexterity includes repetitive motion of the wrists hands and fingers
Talking and hearing required to communicate with and listen to others to share or receive information; will be exposed to noise including telephone office machinery and conversations of others
