Position Summary: The Associate Program Director at The Aya is accountable directly to the Senior Director Housing Program. This position is responsible for directly supervising the Aya Case Managers. This is a fulltime position located in SW DC.
Salary The salary range for this position is $75000 $80000 and the offer amount is determined by the candidates education qualifications and experience. Indeed provides its own estimated salary calculator and is not affiliated with COHs range.
Highlighted Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership and vision alongside the Housing Program Director in developing and managing the program and ensures program integrity and excellence in keeping programs in line with best practices in the field.
- Supports general program operations including development and implementation of policies and procedures staffing structure new ideas for program development etc.
- Coordinates with Housing Program Director to complete regular evaluation of the program as required by funders by compiling client satisfaction survey results and biannual strategic plan updates.
- Works consistently within a housingfirst framework (i.e. providing clients with immediate access to available independent permanent housing and supportive services without prerequisites for sobriety or participation in psychiatric treatment) ensuring that services offered are strengthsbased and clientcentered.
- Meets with supervisees regularly and provides realtime feedback training support and coaching as needed. Creates meeting agendas sends meeting agendas in advance when possible and documents concerns promptly as needed.
- Delegates tasks appropriately to team members to ensure that team goals and responsibilities are achieved. Prioritizes tasks and directs work to ensure deadlines are met.
- Attends and participates regularly in team meetings program meetings Housing Department staff meetings and other organizational meetings. Helps identify training needs of supervisees to ensure staff receives appropriate training and other professional development.
- Works with President/CEO VP of Housing Programs and Policy and Senior Director of Housing and Housing Program Director to develop annual Housing Program budget.
- Bachelors degree required Masters degree in human services field preferred dependent upon the program.
- Two years of Professional supervisory and/or managerial experience in human services required.
- Minimum two years working with people who are experiencing homelessness and/or living in poverty required.
- Initiative and ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational people and writing skills.
- Demonstrated experience using computer spreadsheets and databases required.
- Experience working with families preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings weekends and on an oncall basis required.
- In relation to remote work versus onsite expectations this position is classified as the following: Hybrid: Remote work and onsite work requirements are generally split roughly 50/50. Please note that remote work designations are subject to change or fluctuate at any point in time and the supervisor may require in person learning for a specific amount of time after hire.

About Us:
Community of Hope is a missiondriven innovative and rapidly growing nonprofit. For 45 years we have provided healthcare housing and community support services to make Washington DC more equitable. As a Federally Qualified Health Center we provide medical dental emotional wellness and care coordination services for the whole family at three locations in DC. Community of Hope also strongly emphasizes maternal and child health with midwifery practice and the only freestanding birth center in DC. In 2024 Community of Hope provided about 50000 medical visits 6300 dental visits and 17000 behavioral health visits for about 16000 patients. Community of Hope is also one of the largest providers of homelessness prevention and housing services for 1600 households1384 families and 220 individualsexperiencing homelessness in DC. Community support through Family Success Center our WIC nutrition centers and perinatal care coordination for pregnant people experiencing homelessness reach hundreds more families.
