POSTING: #11 2025/26
POSITION: District Elementary Counsellor
APPOINTMENT: 0.2 FTE Temporary
DURATION: September 1 2025 to June 30 2026
Qualifications Required:
- education degree and a masters degree in counselling psychology or school counselling including a university course in level B assessments theory and practice;
- a minimum of 3 years recent successful experience in elementary school counselling ;
- ability to recognize and determine factors which may precipitate problems for students and seek solutions;
- ability to model teach and foster social emotional and cultural awareness;
- demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to the professional community at the school and district level;
- effective communication interpersonal organizational and classroom management skills; and
- BC Professional Teaching Certificate and current eligibility for Teacher Qualification Service card
