The Department of Apparel Events and Hospitality Management (AESHM) at Iowa State University is seeking a collaborative and studentfocused Academic Advisor I to support our growing undergraduate programs.
The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to work in student affairs helping university students succeed both academically and personally.
Provide academic advising for undergraduate students in the AESHM Department and Fashion Design and Merchandising (FDM) Program including course planning registration degree audits and understanding academic policies.
Connect students with university resources related to academic success wellness financial aid study abroad and career development.
Teach and coordinate orientation and professional development courses tailored to firstyear students.
Support recruitment and retention efforts by engaging with prospective students and families during campus visits orientation programs and special events.
Collaborate with advising teams faculty and international partners to enhance student experiences including coordinating study abroad opportunities with institutions like the London College of Fashion.
