Department:Department of Physiology and Biophysics

Working Title: Full Professor

Job Summary:

The Department of Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine has an open position for a tenuretrack faculty position at the level of Professor. We seek outstanding individuals with a research program that utilizes quantitative approaches (biophysical electrophysiological structural imaging and/or cellbiological) to study the mechanistic regulation of ion channels and physiological processes involved in fertilization. Successful applicants are expected to lead a vigorous externally funded research program and to participate in professional and graduate teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will lead an original and productive research group secure external funding and publish their work.
  • Candidate is expected to teach courses in the graduate and/or medical schools.
  • Candidate is expected to participate in service to the department and University.

Work Location:

Onsite this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora Colorado.

Research interests in the Department currently include cardiac and skeletal muscle physiology ion channel biophysics molecular physiology cell signaling sensory and motor systems and synaptic function. Extradepartmental interactions within molecular biophysics neuroscience and physiology including basic science and translational collaborations are facilitated by several NIHsupported interdepartmental graduate programs and centers (e.g. Neuroscience Program Pharmacology program Structural Biology and Biochemistry program). Other shared resources include cores for biophysics and molecular interactions molecular structure electron microscopy genomics proteomics and transgenic rodents.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

$165000 $175000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is nonexempt.
