Responsibilities
Our OB/GYN Clinic in Iowa is seeking an experienced and compassionate Specialty Nurse to provide exceptional care to women throughout all stages of life. This position is ideal for nurses with experience in obstetrics gynecology or womens health. The Specialty Nurse will assist in patient care education and support during exams procedures and followup care.
Provide direct patient care for obstetric and gynecological patients
Assist physicians during exams and minor procedures
Record patient histories vital signs and document in the electronic health record (EHR)
Administer medications immunizations and treatments as directed by the physician
Educate patients on womens health topics including pregnancy contraception menopause and reproductive health
Provide emotional support and counseling to patients through pregnancy prenatal and postnatal care
Coordinate care plans and followup appointments for patients
Ensure proper infection control practices in clinical and procedural areas
Assist with diagnostic testing such as ultrasounds and lab work
Maintain an organized clean and efficient clinical environment
Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa (LPNs with OB/GYN experience may also be considered)
Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
Previous experience in OB/GYN womens health or a related specialty preferred
Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
Knowledge of OB/GYN procedures prenatal care and womens health management
