Dakota County Technical College seeks a 2 Year Fixed Term FullTime Graphic Arts Instructor that is dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative vibrant studentcentered learning community. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and crosscultural perspectives. Faculty members at Dakota County Technical College are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental and campuswide activities to enhance their disciplines promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration and advance the college mission. Graphic Design: Design: Include:
Teach several graphic design/web design courses.
Instructor is responsible for all activities related to teaching and learning including but not limited to instructional planning curriculum development student evaluation and records student recruitment and retention student advising and placement classroom/climate preparation and management interpersonal relations promote safety in all aspects of program activities purchase supplies and equipment participate in professional development experiences work as an effective team member of the department maintenance of professional skills and credentials and participate on college committees.
Salary Range:
$44144..00 Annually
* Salary placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the MSCF Contract and conducted by the Minnesota State System Office.
Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement
Associate degree in graphic arts graphic design or electronic publishing.
Occupational Experience Requirement
Four fulltime (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience in graphic arts graphic design or electronic publishing.
Recency Requirement
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful fulltime (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Preferred Qualification
Higher education teaching experience with a diverse student population
Experience with learning communities or team teaching
Experience in curriculum development
Experience incorporating technology into curriculum delivery including online instruction
Experience developing and using studentcentered active and experiential learning strategies
Experience integrating crosscultural and interdisciplinary perspectives in course instruction
Experience assessing student academic achievement of campuswide and classroom learning outcomes
Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)
Monday Friday; 8:00am 4:30pm
