The Hamilton LRT team is seeking candidates for the position of Manager ThirdParty Coordination. This position will report to the Senior Manager ThirdParty Coordination as part of a multidisciplinary project team. The Manager will engage with various internal and external stakeholders municipal partners and other project partners to deliver on crossfunctional workstreams issue escalation and resolution and critical decisionmaking.
What will I be doing
- Apply political acuity relationship management and facilitation skills to lead issue resolution. Manage escalated issues through established governance frameworks develop materials and lead briefings with project leadership and executives.
- Liaise and negotiate with internal departments municipalities and other third parties to establish and manage project scope and project requirements.
- Develop strategic positions and directive actions with the project team based on technical information and stakeholder feedback considering project and organizational objectives enterprise policies value for money and stakeholder relationships.
- Provide leadership and advice on the development and negotiations of agreements with stakeholders. Apply commercial and stakeholder acuity.
- Manage and lead drafting of internal governance documents including coordination of planning financial and commercial inputs.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of diverse stakeholder interests and create positive working relationships to establish mutually beneficial opportunities discuss technical and policy related issues and foster collaboration.
- Work with diverse stakeholders to identify opportunities and roadblocks. Ensure risks are detected assessed and appropriately managed.
- Provide support to community engagement public consultation and public communications activities.
- Communicate regularly with various internal and external stakeholders municipal partners government representatives and project partners to advise communicate educate negotiate and/or persuade on issues within scope of responsibility.
Develop processes procedures team workflows and structures to create greater performance efficiency and meaningful and trusting relationships with stakeholders
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
- Completion of a degree in Planning Engineering Economics Business Public Administration or a related discipline or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent.
- Experience delivering capital infrastrucutre projects preferably in the transportation and public sectors. Experience in a leadership and/or strategy role is an asset.
- Knowledge and experience of the public sector procurement process and different types of procurement models. Experience in progressive contracting is an asset.
- Demonstrated political acuity to recognize and respond to highlevel and sensitive issues.
- Excellent relationship stakeholder management negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to work in collaboration with colleagues contractors and stakeholders across organizational boundaries.
- Knowledge and/or experience of the project planning and implementation lifecycle.
- Knowledge and/or experience of project management principles and practices including budget schedule risks and performance.
- Excellent oral written and presentation skills.
- Analytical research and problemsolving skills to support evidencebased decision making.
- Demonstrated commercial acuity to review and advise on agreements policies and negotiations with industry and stakeholders is an asset.
