Overview
Student Patient Care Technician
- Powell 4 Stroke/ Neuro/ Medical at Methodist
- Powell 5Surg/Neuro/Ortho at Methodist
- 2 North Med/ Surg at Lutheran
PartTime Day/ Evening hours 8 12 or 16 hours per week.
Not Benefits Eligible
Provides direct care for patients. This position was designed specifically for high school students who participate in School to Work Internship or similar programs or are looking for part time work with guaranteed hours to gain experience in a healthcare role.
The purpose is to create more employment opportunities for the student population. Responsibilities
- Student PCT will perform patient care and treatments under supervision of a RN. Provides and documents care including but not limited to activities of daily living mobility specimen collection and respiratory support activities as directed by the RN.
- Possess the ability to lift move position and transport patients.
- Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.
- Demonstrates initiative to improve quality of care patient and employee safety and customer service.
- Team members under the age of 18 may not independently operate mechanical lift equipment.
Qualifications
- Must be 16 years old or older.
- Basic Certified Nursing Aid certification preferred but not required
- Dept of Labor Level III (Medium) Work. Candidates must successfully complete a postoffer preemployment strength and agility test at Medium Level of Work.
