Job Description

Cartesian Therapeutics Inc. (Cartesian or the Company) (NASDAQ: RNAC) is a publicly traded clinicalstage biotechnology company pioneering mRNA cell therapies for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. Descartes08 Cartesians lead candidate is an autologous mRNAengineered chimeric antigen receptor Tcell therapy (mRNA CART) currently entering our Phase III AURORA Trial for the treatment of generalized Myasthenia Gravis (gMG). Listen to our December 3 2024 investor call for a discussion of the positive Phase IIb results in gMG. Descartes08 is also in Phase II development for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) with a Phase II pediatric basket trial planned in additional autoimmune indications. Descartes08 has been granted Orphan Drug Designation and Regenerative Medicine Advanced Therapy Designation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of gMG and Rare Pediatric Disease Designation for the treatment of Juvenile Dermatomyositis. The Companys clinicalstage pipeline also includes Descartes15 a nextgeneration autologous antiBCMA mRNA CART. Cartesians highly integrated approach is a rare find in biotech with discovery cGMP manufacturing and clinical operations all happening under one roof.


Position Summary: We are looking for a detailoriented and organized Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to join our finance team. The AP Specialist will play a key role in the daytoday operations of our accounts payable process ensuring accuracy efficiency and timeliness in processing vendor invoices maintaining financial records and supporting overall accounting operations. The AP Specialist will collaborate closely with vendors internal teams and management to ensure smooth operations and proper recordkeeping for financial transactions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and process vendor invoices employee reimbursements and other accounts payable transactions accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure all invoices are properly coded and approved in accordance with company policies.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between vendor invoices and purchase orders or contracts.
  • Reconcile vendor statements as necessary and resolve invoice discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Perform monthly corporate credit card reconciliations including charge verification expense coding and receipt collection.
  • Maintain accurate records of invoices payments and vendor information and support a wellorganized filing system.
  • Support monthend close activities related to accounts payable including preparing journal entries and generating necessary AP reports for the accounting team.
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve issues and paymentrelated inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls accounting standards and company policies.
  • Prepare documentation and assist with internal and external audits.
  • Support with annual 1099 vendor reporting.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of accounts payable process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in accounting finance or related field; Bachelors degree preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in accounts payable finance or a related field ideally in the biotech pharmaceutical or healthcare sectors.
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and AP software tools
  • Familiarity with 3way matching is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of 1099 vendor reporting
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high volumes of transactions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to collaborate with various teams and external vendors.
  • Ability to identify issues and work proactively to resolve discrepancies.
  • A team player who is adaptable and able to work in a fastpaced environment.

Salary Notice:

At Cartesian Therapeutics we are committed to transparency and equity in our compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $58123 to $97032 per year. Please note that the final salary will be determined based on several factors including but not limited to years of experience industry experience education and specific skills relevant to the role.
