At Office Depot Inc. the Retail Team Lead is a parttime role providing total solutions to our customers encompassing Products Technology Services Furniture and Print offerings. The Retail Team Lead will quickly build and maintain customer relationships and become a trusted advisor by utilizing provided training to support sales offerings. The Team Lead will support a customercentric environment engagement with the local community all while contributing to a positive culture aligned with the Office Depot 5C values of Customer Commitment Change Caring and Creativity. The Retail Team Lead will demonstrate a passion for the brand technology products furniture print and other services/products offered to our customers. Retail Team Lead (PT) will utilize Office Depot Inc.s proven sales principles to proactively engage customers to drive the sales of our total offerings and properly assess customer needs to ensure satisfaction in every interaction.

Compensation range Minimum $15.00/hour to Maximum $18.00/hour

Through enthusiasm and expertise Retail Team Lead will help us create and nurture a vibrant sales culture enhancing our stores visual and merchandising standards freight and logistics activities and prioritizing unparalleled client satisfaction. The Retail Team Lead will also be a parttime Key Carrier for their location and may perform Leader on Duty functions while in the role. In addition the Retail Team Lead (PT) must be able to perform External Key Carrier responsibilities which include but are not limited to opening & closing responsibilities and be scheduled for those respective shifts.

The essential functions of this position may require you to consent to periodic comprehensive background checks conducted by a thirdparty.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Print Sales and Services:
    • Responsibility in the Print function to support efficient operation while driving overall store sales.
    • Operates and assists associates on all equipment within the Print Services area to maintain efficient production and ensure client orders are completed correctly and ontime.
    • Effectively utilizes communication tools to request assistance within the Print Services area and to coordinate the appropriate service for all customers throughout the store.
  • Operational Efficiency:
    • Process merchandise accurately and efficiently adhering to established procedures deadlines and visual merchandising standards.
    • Identify areas for process improvement and implement plans to reduce waste and inefficiencies. In partnership with all associates ensure regular loss prevention compliance.
    • Ensures compliance with company policies procedures and practices; and supports the companys loss prevention efforts. Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Contribute to increasing sales and profitability through conversion Average Order Value (AOV) and customer satisfaction improvement initiatives.
  • Client Engagement:
    • Drives positive client satisfaction levels including coaching and training to associates to enhance the customer experience.
    • Supports community outreach initiatives to drive client/customer retention.
    • Works to continually develop personal selling skills and product knowledge through sales and service tools provided to deliver the total solution.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • External Key Carrier and Leader on Duty:
    • Ensuring the safety and security of the building and associates during the absence of the management team.
    • In partnership with all associates ensure regular loss prevention compliance.
    • Performing opening or closing responsibilities.
    • This includes driving awareness of key performance indicators providing guidance to improve results activation/deactivation of the stores alarm system and processes for opening or closing the store.
    • May assist in review of cash handling cashier and merchandise error logs register voids tax exemption and all related cash office audits.
    • Other duties as deemed necessary

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent education preferred
  • Minimum 13 years of experience in related field
  • Sales and/or Customer Service experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to use computers and technology for information and to access information necessary to complete the job.
  • Skilled in Customer Service and Print Services experience would be desired.
  • Must possess advanced selling skills Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills which are necessary to establish a selling relationship with customers.
  • Must be adaptable to a changing environment.
  • Must be able to assist others in a professional environment.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess the ability to use technology applicable to role and to access information necessary to complete daily responsibilities.
  • Must possess ability to process information/merchandise through POS register system.
