This position will receive a shortstaffing temporary pay differential of3.17%from July 1st 2024 June 30th 2025.

About Grand Junction Regional Center:

Grand Junction Regional Center (GJRC) services and supports quality care and training to individuals in the Day Program. Services and support assure that individuals receive education training and therapy needed to assist them in achieving their goals to provide opportunity for choices during work leisure and community activities. GJRCs goal is to facilitate outcomes for people with developmental disabilities or who have a dual diagnosis in a variety of program settings which achieves a therapeutic milieu for up to 15 persons.

Description of Job

The Health Care Technician I will ensure a homelike environment for people with developmental disabilities or who have a dual diagnosis that ensures personal outcomes and to achieve a therapeutic milieu for up to 12 persons


Additionally as a Health Care Technician I you can expect to:

Special Qualifications This position will have a current valid LPT license in good standing or be QMAP trained

Conditions of Employment:

  • CDHS employees (all Direct contact with vulnerable persons):
    CBI name check and fingerprint check ICON Colorado court database Medicare fraud database Reference Checks Professional License verification (licensure requirements) Drug Screen PREA (Division of Youth Services) Trails check (direct contact with children) CAPS (direct contact with adults Mental Health Institutes Regional Centers Veterans Community Living Centers)
  • GJRC is a 24/7 facility must be available to work any shift any day and/or any area to meet the a agency needs
  • Must possess a valid unrestricted U.S. Drivers License
  • Drive state car van or bussette to various group homes programming admin & in community
  • Oncall: Eligible per DPA pay plan
  • This position will have a current LPT license in good standing or be QMAP trained
  • TB test is required Requires Influenza and COVID vaccine or an exemption approved by HR
  • Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must (1) disclose that information on the application (2) provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position (3) provide the employee number from the applicants prior State employment. Absent extraordinary circumstances prior disciplinary termination or resignation in lieu of termination and failure to provide this information will disqualify the applicant from future State employment with CDHS.
