Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW
Job Title: Physician Neonatology
Job Type: Locum Tenens
Location: Washington DC
Service Setting: Inpatient
Coverage Type: Clinical Only
Coverage Period: 05/19/2025 2 months (potential to extend)
Clinical Shift Schedule: 12hour or 24hour shifts (Day and Night)

PATIENT INFORMATION
Patient Demographics: Neonates and newborns
Patient Volume/Census: NICU up to 10 15 patients; Nursery 5 10 patients
Admissions: Yes (including delivery resuscitation)
Rounding: Yes
Case Mix: Level 2 NICU nursery care delivery resuscitation

FACILITY INFORMATION
No. of Beds in Department: 6 NICU beds
EMR System: Cerner
Reason for Coverage: New site coverage need

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
Credentialing Timeline: 30 days

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Rate: TBD
Travel Lodging and Malpractice Insurance

REQUIRED PROCEDURES
Neonatal resuscitation
Nursery care management
NICU level 2 patient care

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Licenses: Active DC medical license required
Certifications: Board Certified in Neonatology NRP DEA CDS
Experience: Minimum Level 2 NICU experience required
Other Qualifications: Must be available for interview and reference process; must provide 3 references

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide care for neonates in Level 2 NICU and newborn nursery
Perform neonatal resuscitations at deliveries as needed
Cover clinical shifts including days and nights
Maintain patient documentation in Cerner EMR
Collaborate with hospital staff for newborn care in an acute hospital setting
