Summary
We are looking for a Debt Collector to manage and recover outstanding debts while maintaining positive client relationships. This role involves contacting customers to negotiate payment arrangements resolving disputes and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills attention to detail and a customerfocused approach to ensure effective and ethical debt recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contact customers via phone email or written communication to follow up on overdue accounts.
- Negotiate and establish payment plans or settlements in line with company policies.
- Investigate and resolve disputes or discrepancies related to outstanding balances.
- Maintain accurate records of all interactions payments and agreements in the database.
- Monitor account statuses and escalate unresolved cases as needed.
- Adhere to regulatory and legal guidelines for debt collection practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate account information and resolution of client concerns.
- Prepare reports on collection activities account statuses and recovery performance.
Requirements
Requirements/Qualification
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or a related field is preferred
- 3 years of experience in debt collection or a similar role.
- Experience handling (B2C) Business to Consumer or Customer collection is a must.
- Proficiency in using CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage sensitive conversations effectively.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills to resolve account issues.
- Familiarity of Australian debt collection laws regulations and compliance standards is an advantage
- Ability to prioritize tasks manage time efficiently and meet recovery targets.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping and reporting.
