Senior HRIS Data Engineer
Location: Dominos World Resource Center; 30 Frank Lloyd Wright Dr Ann Arbor MI 48105 (MondayThursday onsite with Friday being remote/flex). Candidates should be local to the Ann Arbor area or willing to relocate.
The Dominos Pizza HR Tech Team in Ann Arbor MI is seeking a Sr. HRIS Data Engineer that has experience supporting multiple HR functions of a business.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Data Engineering & Database Engineering
- Data Pipelines: Design develop and maintain scalable data pipelines from various internal and external data sources to support data processing and analytics needs within the reporting platform utilizing tools and processes such as ELTs SSIS Power BI Workloads Power Query M. Develop and execute data transformation workflows to convert raw data into meaningful and actionable formats as well as to enhance data usability. Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues to maintain system reliability.
- Reporting Database: Design develop and maintain the database architecture for the reporting database within the reporting platform. Implement data models and schemas to support efficient data retrieval and reporting. Create dynamic and efficient database objects using advanced SQL techniques and functions. Maintain code versioning using tools such as BitBucket or Visual Studio Code. Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity and security.
- Data Maintenance: Implement and maintain robust data cleansing processes to ensure data quality and accuracy. Identify and rectify data inconsistencies duplicates and errors. Create systematic alerts and monitoring to detect and remedy data issues. Work with cross functional teams to correct data at the source when necessary and help create and foster long term data improvement initiatives. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data in reporting systems by conducting regular quality assurance checks identifying data discrepancies and implementing solutions.
- Other: Serve as the subject matter expert in PeopleSoft HCM data and develop to become the subject matter expert in all data interfaced with PeopleSoft. Lead in the development and maintenance of standardization and quality control efforts. Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in data and database engineering cloud computing and big data.
BI Reporting and Analytics
- Tell stories leveraging data tools and insights to fuel functional effectiveness and improve efficiencies.
- Develop prescriptive insight tools to support internal stakeholders (HR functional areas Operations Supply Chain Finance etc.) enabling them to make better faster datadriven decisions.
- Root out business questions translate to available data streams and develop tools that will answer and provide insight to those questions. Develop visualize and evangelize important metrics and analytics.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data models reports and dashboards.
- Collect business requirements using a variety of methods such as data mining and analysis interviews meetings workshops and workflow analysis to develop the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.
- Design develop and maintain reports dashboards and apps in business intelligence and analytics tools such as Power BI.
- Migrate legacy reporting including PS Queries to Power BI and evaluate new data requests to determine best reporting solution on a casebycase basis.
- Optimize Power BI dashboards and reports for performance and user experience.
- Troubleshoot data and reporting issues and implement solutions.
- Ensure reports adhere to reporting standards and documentation requirements.
- Ensure the accuracy integrity and security of reports by applying critical reporting alerts and conducting regular quality assurance checks.
- Create report user documentation and train endusers on Power BI features and best practices.
- Stay up to date with new Power BI features and functionalities and evaluate their impact on our BI solutions.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Systems or equivalent combination of relevant education training and experience
- Strong advanced SQL required minimum 5 yrs experience Microsoft SQL Server preferred
- Experience with complex relational databases multidimensional data models and schemas
- Knowledge in cloud data and data lakehouses a plus Azure and Databricks preferred
- Experienced in all steps of data wrangling preferably using SQL
- Proficient in data engineering for performance and agility.
- Experience with version control tools (ex: Visual Studio BitBucket GitHub etc.)
- Familiarity with scripting languages (python R shell scripting) for automation a plus
- Experience with data integration and reporting tools such as SSIS SSRS SSMS
- Experience with Power Query M and DAX
- HCM data expertise PeopleSoft preferred
- Proficient with at least one data visualization platform for Business Intelligence minimum 3 yrs experience Microsoft Power BI preferred
- Experience developing metrics KPI analysis and other advanced analytics required. Familiarity with applied statistics and predictive analytics a plus
- Experience with a 3rd party analytics platform including data integration cleansing and transformation preferably Visier
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
