Position Summary
This is supervisory work leading the operations of a major court function supporting the judiciary of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Work involves supervision of staff including civil case managers and administrative staff conducting civil case management conferences maintaining accurate records and reports for Judicial Team Leaders and other judges assigned to the Trial Division Civil conducting pretrial and case management conferences in specialized programs including but not limited to LandlordTenant Appeals and City of Philadelphia Code Enforcement cases. Work is performed under the supervision of the Deputy Court Administrator and Director of the Complex Litigation Center.
Pursuant to the Supreme Courts Per Curiam Order dated December 29 2015 an attorney employed in the Unified Judicial System shall be prohibited from appearing as counsel in the division/section of the court in which the attorney is employed.

Essential Functions
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or
allinclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Schedule case management and Court events including Hearings Settlement Conferences PreTrial Conferences and Trial.
- Conduct case management conferences in civil cases in major programs using Zoom to confirm track assignments issue case management orders identify approximate preliminary value of a claim identify existing or potential impediments to attaining disposition within stated time frames and attempt to attain amicable resolution of case.
- Conduct settlement and pretrial conferences as needed.
- Coordinate case processing activities with other court employees and offices within the District to ensure timely and proper processing of all caserelated matters.
- Respond to inquiries by attorneys and unrepresented parties regarding local Court procedures and facilitate compliance with procedural requirements.
- Inform the Bar on local court procedures and protocols.
- Promote efficient case management through professionalism and understanding of the role of the Court.
- Complete administrative tasks associated with assigned caseload.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees members of the judiciary court and departmental administrators and diverse court clientele and members of the public.
- Conduct case management conferences for the City of Phila. Code Enforcement program cases.
- Conduct pretrial conference for the LandlordTenant Appeals program cases.
- Assume role of backup to both the Program Coordinator for the Civil Tax program and the Settlement Conference Officer for the Major NonJury and Arbitration Appeals programs.
- Prepare and submit performance evaluations for supervised staff.
- Perform related work as required with strict adherence to deadlines.

Competencies Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of the state and local rules of civil procedure and statutes;
- Thorough knowledge of the components functions and processes of the Trial Division Civil case management system;
- Ability to identify and analyze a variety of administrative and procedural problems and to make sound recommendations as to their solution;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public attorneys supervisors and judiciary;
- Communicates effectively with others by providing information clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing;
- Takes initiative sets priorities meets deadlines and completes assignments in a timely fashion;
- Considerable knowledge and understanding of the operations of the Civil Case Management Center.
- Proficient customer service skills.
- Knowledge of supervisory methods and practices.
- Knowledge of principles standards and goals of administrative organization and management.
- Ability to supervise a moderate size group of employees engaged in varied tasks.
- Ability to represent the department in conferences and meetings with public and private officials.
- Ability to provide information clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
- Formulates and articulates a vision for the department.

Qualifications :
- Must be a member of the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania in good standing prior to employment start date.
- At least two (2) years of civil litigation experience.
- Successful completion of a criminal background investigation.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Covid19 Vaccination recommended.
- FullTime OnSite position.
