As a Hardware Development Engineer you will engage with cross functional teams to develop custom tools and provide design for supportability recommendations. You are a motivated selfstarter who is responsive flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.
Key job responsibilities
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to execute product designs from concept to production including specification design prototyping validation and testing
Work with Ergo Manufacturing Supply Chain and Commodity organizations as well as vendors to ensure a smooth product launch and sustainment
Write functional specifications design verification plans and functional test procedures
Apply industrial design principles to enhance ergonomics and user experience
Create and release drawings for scale manufacturing
Implement customer feedback loops to address emerging challenges

Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
7 years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD software including best practices for part design advanced assemblies and complex configuration management
Handson experience crafting and evaluating proofofconcept models and prototypes
Thorough understanding of principles theories and concepts in mechanical engineering and their application to product design
Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools
Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment through the full product development cycle from inception through maturity including creating associated documentation (specs test plans drawings etc.)
Proficiency documenting designs in accordance with GD&T ANSI Y14.5
Experience designing and debugging tooled components (injection mold forge stamp etc.)
Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software and processing engineering change orders (ECOs)
Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering
